How many candidates for Congress in Mississippi’s Second District have even heard of the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798? Even after reading the resolutions, penned by Thomas Jefferson, how many would support the principles enshrined there, including State Sovereignty? Brian Flowers does. Let’s send him to Congress to represent Mississippi’s Second District.
Do you support the resolutions, yourself? Read and contemplate the excerpt below.
Resolved, That the several States composing the United States of America, are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their General Government…. and that whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force. … that the government created by this compact [the Constitution for the United States] was not made the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to itself; since that would have made its discretion, and not the Constitution, the measure of its powers; …. that this would be to surrender the form of government we have chosen, and live under one deriving its powers from its own will, and not from our authority; … and that the co-States, recurring to their natural right in cases not made federal, will concur in declaring these acts void, and of no force, and will each take measures of its own for providing that neither these acts, nor any others of the General Government not plainly and intentionally authorized by the Constitution, shall be exercised within their respective territories.
America still stands at the crossroads where she has stood for quite some time. One road leads to Liberty through Constitutional government and State Sovereignty. The other leads to Tyranny through Socialism and Communism.
Will we restore State Sovereignty and live as free and moral people by learning and following the principles that made us great? If you are among those who answer, “yes,” help us elect Brian Flowers to Congress from the Second District of Mississippi.
With nothing to lose, and everything to gain, let’s make a change in the Second District.
